Strategic Growth & Expansion
- Acquisition & Merger of BuLi Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd.
- In March 2023, Neogen entered into an agreement with Livent Corporation (USA) to acquire 100% stake in BuLi Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd. (BuLi Chem).
- The acquisition was completed in May 2023, and in January 2025, the Hon’ble NCLT (Mumbai Bench) approved the merger of BuLi Chem with Neogen.
- This merger simplifies the group structure, enhances efficiency, reduces duplication of costs and strengthens Neogen’s specialty chemical portfolio.
- Technology Leadership in Electrolytes for Lithium-Ion Batteries
- Neogen is the first Indian company to receive a global technology license from MU Ionic Solutions (MUIS) – a joint venture between Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) and UBE Corporation.
- With this license, Neogen will produce up to 30,000 MT of electrolytes annually, meeting stringent international quality, safety and reliability standards.
- This positions Neogen at the forefront of India’s growing lithium-ion battery ecosystem, offering proven global technology to Indian cell manufacturers.
- Future Expansion Plans
- Development of Specialty Lithium Salts and Electrolyte Additives for advanced chemistry cells.
- Establishing a greenfield battery materials facility under Neogen Ionics Limited at Dahej PCPIR, Gujarat, spread across 65 acres, to manufacture:
- 30,000 MT of electrolytes
- 3,000 MT of electrolyte salts & additives
- This facility will cater to both Indian and international OEMs.

Neogen operates five advanced manufacturing facilities across India, with a total land bank of ~192 acres:

- Karakhadi, Vadodara, Gujarat
- Dahej SEZ, Gujarat (Phase I & II expansions completed)
- Sangareddy, Hyderabad
- Pakhajan, Bharuch, Dahej PCPIR, Gujarat (Greenfield project site)
Current Capacities
- Organic Chemicals: Increased from 1.30 m³ to 4.63 m³ (Reactor Capacity)
- Inorganic Chemicals: Expanded from 2.40 m³ to 39 m³
