ABOUT US

Neogen family has expanded to over 700+ members as at the end of March 2023. The family comprises of technically qualified people with Ph. Ds. and bachelor’s in chemical engineering.

Apart from Bromination and Grignard chemistry, Neogen has also developed competencies in other related chemistries, such as, Alkylation, Acylation, Aminatin, Oxidation, Dehalogenation, Silylation, Halex reaction, Friedel Craft, Couplings and Chlorination. Further, Neogen has obtained the license from MU Ionic Solutions (MUIS) (a JV between Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) and UBE Corporation and is a group company of The Mitsubishi Chemical Group (the group) a Japanese conglomerate) for availing its proprietary and confidential manufacturing technology for making Neogen’s electrolyte solutions at its manufacturing facility in India with a planned max installed capacity of upto 30,000 MT per annum. These electrolytes will be targeted by Neogen to meet the growing demand of lithium-ion cell manufacturers in India. The above Technology License will allow Neogen to ensure that the manufacturing plant meets stringent global standards for quality, reliability, safety, and efficiency for electrolytes production. It will also help Neogen to greatly reduce approval times with Lithium-Ion Battery makers. Neogen is honoured to be a recipient of this first-ever license issued by MUIS the part of MCC of electrolyte manufacturing technology anywhere in the globe. The group’s 3-decade long electrolyte manufacturing experience will be extremely beneficial for Neogen to build a robust global quality and safety standards approved electrolyte plant in India. With this arrangement, Neogen will be the first Indian company to have a proven global technology, to manufacture electrolytes at scale for lithium-ion batteries. This will allow Neogen to further enhance confidence of Indian customers.

In addition, the Company has plans to utilise its three decades of expertise in lithium chemistry for manufacturing Specialty Lithium Salts and additives for Electrolyte used in lithium-ion battery advance chemistry cells, to produce electrolytes and lithium salts required for electrolytes.

Neogen Group functions out of its five state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. These are located at Mahape, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, Karakhadi in Vadodara, Dahej SEZ in Gujarat, Sangareddy, Hyderabad and Pakhajan, Bharuch, Dahej PCPIR. Together, these occupy around 122 acres of land. The Company has acquired BULI Chemicals India Private Limited in the month of May 2023 which has its facility located at Hyderabad spread across 5 acres. With completion of Phase I and Phase II Expansions at Dahej SEZ, other brownfield expansions and recent acquisition of a facility at Hyderabad, the total organic chemicals manufacturing capacity of the Company increased from 1.30 m3to 4.63 m3 of Reactor Capacity and the aggregate manufacturing capacity of Inorganic Chemicals has increased from 2.40 m3 to 39 m3A. In pursuit of our expansion strategy and as an integral step in establishing a greenfield project, Neogen Ionics Limited, our wholly-owned subsidiary, completed a land acquisition totalling 65 acres in Pakhajan, Dahej PCPIR, Gujarat. This greenfield site will house a world-class, state-of-the-art battery material facility, set to be our largest, dedicated to battery materials and emerging business opportunities. As part of this project, we will set up the plant to manufacture 30,000 MT of electrolytes and 3,000 MT of electrolyte salts and additives. Once operational, the plant is expected to meet the increasing demand from lithium-ion cell manufacturers in India and address the growing international OEM demand for electrolyte salts and additives.

With the completion of our Greenfield facility at Dahej SEZ, Neogen can carry out multi-step synthesis in equipment of various sizes. Neogen is also focussing on Custom Synthesis and Manufacturing. Work has already commenced in this area with customers in Japan and Europe.

Apart from catering to the domestic market, Neogen has, so far, exported to 29 countries including USA, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Canada, South Korea, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Greece, Poland, Czech Republic, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Egypt, Taiwan, Australia, Ireland, and China. Among these, Europe (UK, Spain, France, Germany, and Italy), USA and Japan remain our largest markets.
